Restless Natives: back to the 80s

For me, YouTube is the new MTV. Whenever I have some time to kill, I set out to find and watch interesting music videos. A few days ago I stumbled upon this clip from 'Restless Natives', a Scottish film from 1985 I remembered from my youth. The film is quite funny and follows the adventures of two young men robbing tourist coaches in the highlands, disguised as a clown and a wolf-man. Because they're such nice guys, they become local folk heroes.

More than the movie in itself, I love the great soundtrack by Big Country. The movie title song featured in the clip, I believe, is one of the best songs they ever made. In 1998 the soundtrack became available on the Big Country collection Restless Natives & Rarities. The CD version is hard to find, but the music can be found at the iTunes store. Recommended!

And because I can't help it, i'll end with another great song from the 90s (already retro when it was released in 1993 :-)): Pulp with Babies. Thank you, YouTube!
