According to the New York Post , Microsoft is willing to take over (or merge with) Yahoo! for no less than $50 billion. If these rumours turn out to be true, Microsoft acquires the web credibility it is since long craving for, and the Web becomes a bipolar landscape with to giants readying for a major battle. Yahoo! stock up almost 20% after the news broke out.

update 22:48: according to the Wall Street Journal, the talks are off for the moment.
