Meeting of Minds - The User is the Content

I will be present at the Meeting of Minds in Antwerpen (Belgium) on April 26th-27th. It will be an excellent opportunity to discuss the societal implications of the Web revolution, that has empowered us all to create, publish and share massively online. The people formerly known as the audience are no longer merely consumers, and the old-media players have lost their monopoly on content delivery - or as McLuhan exclaimed: the user is the content. His words have become the provocative title for the meeting. Discussion promises to be good with people like John Buckman (Creative Commons, Magnatune, Bookmooch ), Bob Young (Lulu.com ), Paul Gerhardt (BBC Creative Archive ) and many other interesting participants.

Registration is completely free and can be done swiftly here. The meeting of minds is an initative of Vlaams-Nederlands Huis deBuren and organised by C.H.I.P.S. vzw in collaboration with the University of Antwerp (Communication Studies ), Vrije Universiteit Brussels (SMIT research centre ) and Music centre TRIX.
