Online communities and selling opportunities for artists

Posted 07 March 2007 10:52 by Kristof Michiels

A few weeks ago, I reported about Humble Voice, an online community for artists to present their work. Here are a few more arts communities that have recently launched, or received extra funding to pursue their mission. First Sistino, offering artists the opportunity to sell high-quality prints of their works. Sistino has been created by Art.com. Then there is Imagekind, by Curious Office Partners, with a similar print-on-demand service, that sells itself as One Community for Creating, Buying and Selling Art. They've just received extra funding. You can read more about that here. To make the list more complete: check out Artslant, which I discovered reading mashable. Artslant is an events listing site and has a focus on listings of offline exhibitions and galeries of contemporary art.
